Bold & Earthy with Cocoa Undertones

    • One of our best selling coffees (12 oz bag)
    • Tasting notes: a little spicy, some dry cocoa, and the perfect match for a sugar glaze donut. It's indulgent, rich, creamy, and full-bodied.
    • This is a Haraaz Cooperative® coffee from the Haraaz mountains (until ~May 2021)

    • These beans are grown in Yemen's mountainous west at 1500 - 2100 meters. A network of small holder producers meticulously grow and harvest this heirloom coffee by hand, and dry it in the sun. It is then carefully milled and packaged for export.

    • Why do we call our coffee Mokha? Its named for Yemen's port city of Al Mokha (seen on left)
    • In the 16th and 17th century Yemen produced 100% of the world's coffee. Merchants who exported the coffee referred to it as Mokha coffee for its port of origin.

Best sipping coffee I ever tried

I love this coffee. I'm a cream and sweetener expresso machine coffee drinker of many years. This is the first coffee I've enjoyed drinking black -- especially dark roast. I prefer it now with just a little sweetener. Will be back for more.

      A Fine Coffee!

A fine coffee overall and a must for a first timer in the world of Yemeni coffees! It is wonderfully earthy, with hints of cacao, smokiness, with a minty finish. Not really acidic nor a bitter brew, works well as a pour over. Cant wait to try out more coffee from Yemen, a must have unique varietal of beans and flavor that is not found in most homogenous grown coffees.
